George Garriock

Managing Director

George Garriock founded Garriock Bros. Ltd. in 1975. He is the main shareholder and Managing Director.

Originally involved in house building George rapidly developed a significant plant hire business, before progressing into the double glazing and uPVC window manufacturing markets.

Besides overseeing the business he is currently developing the Quarrying operation.

Laura Garriock

Director/Company Secretary

Laura Garriock is the Finance Director for Garriock Bros. Ltd. With a BSc in Computing Laura's attention to detail ensures that finance and administrative fuctions for all divisions run smoothly and efficiently.

Arthur Robertson

Director/Contracts Manager

Arthur joined the company in 1985 and is primarily responsible for the Civil Engineering contracts. Having previously been a Site Manager and Civil Engineer he is well placed to direct staff and subcontractors and keep projects to budget and on time.

John Strmsek

Director/Plant Hire Manager

Based at the Plant Hire Garage in Lerwick, John draws on his extensive knowledge of plant & equipment to ensure that they are maintained correctly. As a result, customers know that they will have few problems with a Garriock Bros. Ltd. hire.
John also oversees the running of the Plant Hire shop, which supplies tools and equipment to contractors and the general public.

Michael Broe

Director (Edinburgh, Coventry & Inverness)

Michael has extensive knowledge of the crushing industry. He served his time as a fitter with Wimpey/Tarmac and then progressed to open cast operations and then quarries. When Tarmac moved to using Nordberg crushing trains Michael was put in charge. This experience gave him a detailed knowledge of the workings of crushers, including the advantages and disadvantages of the various manufacturers.

Michael has met and formed strong relationships with many people in the industry. His understanding of how the industry works, and who the key players are, means he knows when and who to approach when it comes selling or hiring machines.

Davie Campbell

Director (Orkney)

Davie is manager of the 'DriveOrkney' car and van hire operation and is also working to constantly improve the new vehicle servicing and MOT Garage facility at Orkney Motors. With a strong belief in excellent customer, Davie is ideally placed to help customers make an informed decision. Davie oversees the Suzuki/Outboard, Yamaha Outboard and Ifor Williams Trailer dealerships and has established these into well recognised brands within Orkney and will be happy to assist with any enquiry for these products that you have.
